Our mission

Open knowledge. Better evidence. Longer horizons.

OpenTides exists because the space between scientific possibility and public understanding is full of confusion, commercial pressure, and unanswered questions.

Why this started

A note from Brendan Burnett

I started OpenTides after experiencing persistent health questions, rising medicine costs, and a peptide landscape where confident online stories often outrun human evidence.

That frustration became a larger question: what would it look like to make the science understandable, identify the gaps honestly, and eventually help fund rigorous research whose value is shared openly?

“Life is short. People deserve better evidence for the decisions that shape how they feel and live.”

The roadmap

Now

Make the landscape legible

Publish evidence-led explainers, status records, primary sources, and visible corrections.

Next

Build an independent research agenda

Convene scientific and patient advisors, identify meaningful evidence gaps, and publish transparent priorities.

Long term

Fund public-interest human research

Pursue appropriate nonprofit governance and support rigorous clinical work with open methods and public benefit.

OpenTides is not currently a nonprofit. The long-term research program is an ambition, not a fundraising forecast or guarantee.

How we earn trust

Independence has to be designed.

Commercial relationships are disclosed. Evidence conclusions do not change with commission rates. Corrections stay visible.
